Tommy (Rob Garrison) is another friend of Johnny's and a fellow student at the Cobra Kai dojo. While reminiscing about high school, Johnny, Tommy, and Jimmy talk about how in 1984, the Cobra Kai gang went out one weekend and were so drunk that Dutch broke a dartboard at a bar, sending him to juvenile hall. Daniel asks why he didn't kill him, and Mr. Miyagi says "A person with no forgiveness in heart, living worst punishment than death." When she arrives at the Cobra Kai dojo, she introduces herself as "Tory...with a 'y'". After pulling them back up, Barnes breaks the tree. Forced to comply, Miyagi gives in on the condition that Sato signs the village's land title permanently over to the villagers regardless of the fight's outcome. Daniel attempts to leave, but Kreese appears to intercept him, revealing himself to have been alive all along.

Miyagi invites Daniel to stay at his house, and Daniel uses his college funds to help finance Miyagi's dream of opening a bonsai shop. Han tells Dre that Master Li does not teach his students real Kung Fu, but is a "bad man teaching them very bad things". Barnes wins and loses points on Daniel (nearly getting disqualified in the process), but gets defeated in sudden death. Miyagi then gets a letter from Tomi Village saying that his father is dying, so he makes emergency plans to travel to Okinawa. When he was eight years old, his father David LaRusso died after a 2-year battle with stomach cancer. He jumps down from the fence, and beats all of Daniel's assailants single-handedly. One day, he bonds with Johnny after seeing him wearing a Metallica shirt, commenting that he is also a fan of 1980s heavy metal music before selling him a replacement mirror for the Cobra Kai dojo. Miyagi then agrees to train Daniel before leaving Silver. In Cobra Kai, he has two children and owns the LaRusso Auto Group, a chain of auto-dealerships, with his wife Amanda. She hangs out with the other rich, popular girls at her high school. Bert (Owen Morgan) is a diminutive junior student of Cobra Kai. He uses Silver and Kreese's tactic of scoring a point, then losing it with an illegal move until they reach the sudden death round.
