Cube market the Kathmandu as an urban e-bike but given the name, mixture of expedition and MTB components and powerful long-range motor we think it's a highly capable touring and expedition bike that would be somewhat wasted on the city streets. I really love the fourth generation Bosch Performance Line CX mid-motors because they are powerful and natural, but they do produce additional whirring noise compared to lower power options and even some similarly rated products from competitors like Yamaha, Brose, and Shimano. The frame-integrated Powertube battery does a great job of distributing its weight along the frame  but removal and fitting is a little fiddly compared to the designs that lifts upwards and out of the frame. The battery is sunk into the downtube for protection, lower weight distribution, and a nicer…... One of the most affordable and versatile Bosch powered mid-drive electric bikes I've seen to date.
